Anger
Anger is an important emotion that in the right place and time gives us the strength to do what needs to be done. But often it can hurt the ones we love or threaten our livelihood.
Therapy with me not only helps clients manage anger, making choices to do what is helpful rather than harmful, but reduces its intensity and the frequency it arises.
Clients are typically surprised to find that as treatment progresses they simply respond to situations differently than they have in the past without effort. Mood generally lifts and their family and friends see them as happier and more effective.
We can accomplish this by studying the situations that are provoking, determining the underlying thoughts, updating and correcting them with beliefs that are more accurate. To be most effective we need to locate past experiences that have programmed you to react this way and then to reprocess them so that you control your life rather than these programmed reactions.
